They SHOULD be adult learners, however they are not often comfortable with these expectations

Definitely the case Janet.

For students posting reviews, are you relying on peers correcting any mis-information?
Janey Prodoehl
46:25
any tips for developing psychomotor skills?
Brenda Henoch
47:31
I recently read an article about the difference between emergency online teaching (ie COVID) vs setting up an online course as intended as an online course. Basically, make the necessary changes, but realize it will have some, but not necessarily have all the whistles and bells of an online course. Thoughts?
Kim Novak
49:18
we added demo videos and practice.. considering to upload their practice videos
Janet
49:19
That is still not the psychomotor, that is more clinical reasoning, and critical thinking.
Janet
49:45
This seems to be the big issue as the programs are being required to have the students be able to DO not just watch and comment

I teach a there ex class-we are putting skill checks and the final off until when get back. In the meantime we I am assigning labs with a “do” component, a “written” component, and then turning in a “do” part, this is video of them demonstrating
Janet
50:15
Many of the students do not have people with them so we are not able to "require" them to work on someone else
Janey Prodoehl
50:18
can you give us an example of a prompt for your discussion board? CAnt tell how in depth it is
jenniferreft
51:56
Yes, they cannot be expected to demonstrate on a person but that doesn’t mean they cannot demonstrate a exercise or at least verbalize a procedure-obv this works better with some things then others
Jacki Kopack
52:05
I was on a webinar earlier today regarding virtual skill checks...they recommended waivers for video for student and anyone family member in video
Michelle Johnson
52:42
Also, CAPTE is saying lab skills must be face to face….right?
Janet
52:45
Because we can't figure it out, it's really putting our students at a huge disadvantage!
Janet
53:57
How are you going to graduation them if they cannot get the experiences that are required by your institution and/or CAPTE?
Luke Markert
54:38
I've looked into an app called flipgrid. Have not tried it yet. https://info.flipgrid.com/
Maureen Holtz
54:56
Peggy, we have had to pull all students off of clinical rotations. Right now is just a waiting game to see when they can go back. Our 2nd years still need 11-12 more weeks of clinical experience!
Janey Prodoehl
55:11
we started this week. Excellent for giving video feedback
Jacki Kopack
57:27
Flipgrid is free
lhidalgo
01:00:46
I like that Jennifer.
Brenda Henoch
01:01:24
Jennifer - how many students were you able to monitor for the US lab?
lhidalgo
01:01:26
Blackboard Collaborate also works for that.
audreycampbell
01:02:33
We use BB Collaborate for synchronous video and have students upload pictures and short videos of MMT's and ROM measurements
Michelle Dela Cruz
01:03:01
We use Padlet.com which is also free. Similar to FlipGrid. Students like it because it’s similar to Social Media Style Postings.

01:04:04
Is zoom private?
Bridget
01:05:56
I have heard Zoom does not work with Android phones so we were encouraged to stay away from it. We are using Google Meet for Synchronous meetings. For those using Zoom for videos are your students with Android devices having any trouble that they have reported to you?
Bev Labosky
01:07:38
I am using Nearpod basic elements free more advanced with licensing. Great way to create a lecture with interactive video upload and quizzes, polling
Janet
01:07:46
We have had issues with students not having iPhones that are new enough, and they are not able to use Zoom
KD Berrey
01:07:53

I have used my Android with Zoom, no problems
KD Berrey
01:08:23
More trouble with making iPads work easily like for sharing screens
Janet
01:08:33
Doesn't it limit the number of attendees?
KD Berrey
01:09:04
It's 100 participants though
Janet
01:09:05
Zoom is fine, but Google meets limits?
Kim Novak
01:10:19

This young athlete is learning to walk again after a spinal cord injury. PLEASE think about what that means! He has been strengthening his upper body since he needs to be able to rely on that strength more now than ever before. What strikes you about his movements?Take a look at the progression that takes place from clip to clip. I will be very interested in seeing what you think about this after you have had a chance to view them.
Ritzel Hidalgo
01:12:33
I will like to see the recording later. How can I do that?
Jacky Kent
01:12:55
I am new to the group can I be on the email list so I do not miss any meetings or info
