For home owners managing large trees on small lots. Is it okay to cut them down and replace them with smaller trees? Or is important to leave them standing?
:) Thanks, Byron! I agree that's probably the case!

Greetings - Has any research been done with chestnut and mycycorrhizae, specifically ectomycorrhizae to enhance growth and adaptation of this tree species? In forest genetics, we have done research to select mycorrhizae for the purpose of enhancing the growth and adaptation of trees, as well as the health of trees.
Mycorrhizae question submitted by Carl M. Gallegos (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Carl, if you didn't get this earlier, sorry: Carl, some work has been deon testing the transgene and relationship with fungi, but not to address the specific question that you ask: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fpls.2018.01046/fullI should clarify: I'm speaking of this paper in paticular. I'm not an expert in that area. There may be other research that I'm not aware of.
Please repeat mycorrhizae question to Jared Westbrook - Carl Gallegos
Response on whether American chestnut would be appropriate for future climate in PA. PA is at northern extent of the range of American chestnut, so yes. https://www.acf.org/the-american-chestnut/native-range-map/
