Just a quick check in with you all to greet you all and appreciate OIC work on behalf of the Rohingya. As Professor Stanton will know, the outgoing administration has rightly made a genocide determination for the Uighur. What do we need to do to get such determinations for the suffering Rohingya?

Good morning everyone and thank you distinguished panellists for your speeches. Recently, some Rohingya refugees have been relocated to Bhasan Char island without an assessment by the United Nations to verify if the island is suitable to host them and the UN expressed concern about the fact that some relocations were done through coercion (https://www.ohchr.org/EN/NewsEvents/Pages/DisplayNews.aspx?NewsID=26590&LangID=E). On one hand, one has to recognize the efforts that Bangladeshi authorities have done to host them in Cox’s Bazar. However, on the other hand, doesn’t this relocation to Bhasan Char risks to lead to a situation of marginalization and restriction of freedom of movement ? I would like to hear your impressions about this relocation. Thank you very much.
